Welcome to the YMCA Glasgow Wind Orchestra

We are a community Wind Band in Glasgow, founded in February 1982.

Our membership includes youth and experience — a wide range of ages and musical backgrounds.

Our repertoire is also extensive: Marches, Overtures, Classical Music, music from Stage and Screen, Solo Features, Contemporary and so on. We are not a competing band, but find other opportunities to play. We give concerts in the Glasgow area (around eight per year) and are invited to all sorts of venues and events, large and small.

One key part of our operation is our tour programme. We travel abroad every couple of years or so and, through our YMCA connections, have been to a wide variety of destinations.
