The Hague 1983
The YWO had been together just over a year when it undertook this first overseas tour in 1983. It was a short but very successful trip with performances in The Hague and the base town of Scheveningen. Band members might remember one very special concert for ex-servicemen in Arnhem and a visit to the Arnhem War Memorial. A particularly moving moment was when Tom Murray - a piper who was a guest on the tour - played the "Flowers of the Forest" lament at the war memorial.
